A HECM — pronounced “hek’-um,” short for Home Equity Conversion Mortgage — is the federally insured reverse mortgage program, and it is what Curtis does all day. Four decades in mortgage lending, with the last stretch focused almost entirely on this one product.
He has taught HECMs to other loan officers and walked hundreds of families through the decision. A reverse mortgage is not right for everyone; when it is not the right fit, he says so.
